Matt brings with him 27 years of combined public and private sector experience in export controls, corporate compliance, aviation, defense, security, and health care. Matt has served as corporate counsel, co-founded a leading healthcare software company in the medical provider credentialing market, and led that company during the start-up phase and through an acquisition. In addition, Matt has 27 years of military service, both active and reserve, and is a combat veteran. He has served at the U.S. Military Delegation at NATO in Brussels, Belgium, and as a reserve attaché in the Office of Defense Cooperation at the American Embassy in Paris, France.
Matt earned a Bachelor of Science with honors from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a Juris Doctor from American University Washington College of Law, with an emphasis in international law. He is a licensed attorney and a member of the District of Columbia Bar. Matt also holds active security clearances for the Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security. Additionally, Matt has flown as a commercial airline pilot and has run for the U.S. House of Representatives in Colorado’s Third Congressional District.
